PCC Report:

If you’re familiar with medicinal marijuana, then I can only assume you have heard the names “OG Kush” and “G-13” in your experience. Both have earned notoriety independently: OG Kush for its very distinct taste and smell; G-13 for its incredible potency and seemingly unparalleled strength. I can only imagine what the breeder was thinking when they put these two power houses in a room together to work their magic. What we have ended up with is one of the finest medicinal herbs available: MK Ultra.

MK Ultra from PCC

True to many OG Kush crosses, upon first appraisal I am regaled with that distinct stench of fresh loam. Although the smell of soil largely prevails, my nose catches an undercurrent of sweetness I can only attribute to the Afghani heritage of G-13. Based on smell alone I expect to find the strong psychoactive effect of the OG Kush, but wonder if the physical effect of the G-13 will fail to shine through. My history with this strain tells me otherwise. OG Kush may manage to be influential in MK Ultra’s smell and taste, but it takes a back seat to the powerful Indica effects of G-13. In some ways, you could be forewarned of this by the tight bud structure and bulbous calyxes that MK Ultra displays, making it more appealing to the eye than the typical OG Kush. In spite of its impressive appearance, MK Ultra’s many virtues lie not with its vanity, but with its incredible medicinal effect.

My method of choice for consumption is the roll. It gives me a moment to admire not only the high quality of the herb, but the impressive attention to detail that has been made during the dry and cure process. Improperly dried or cured medicine will be significantly harsher on your throat and will negate most of the natural taste of the herb. The batch used to sample for this review was cured and dried to near perfection, providing an ideal ground-up uniform consistency. As in the past, I found this MK Ultra to be relatively easy to roll because of its high resin content: it sticks to itself nicely without clumping up. The dry pull reveals a greater array of that diesel-citrus pungency, providing a more balanced taste with soil undertones. The taste while smoking is a nice blend of OG Kush’s early mossy fumes, and a sweeter, muskier element that develops as you continue to smoke.

MK Ultra’s effects are almost instantaneous. By the second or third pull a gentle creeping begins in your body: starting in your face and easing your pain away as it extends to your fingertips. The intensity and strength continue to rise until, more than likely, the joint has gone out by your preoccupation. You may be greeted by the strong psychoactive effects of OG Kush, but it can do little to escape the shadow of the physical nature of G-13. MK Ultra leaves me happily medicated, yearning for a snack and a comfortable warm place to nap.
